We are excited to welcome you to our
annual Spring Conference “Beauty for Ashes.” This conference is
designed for women of all ages. Our prayer is that every woman will be
strengthened and encouraged as they walk through the things that we call
“life.” Through this conference, may “God’s life” flow through each one
and allow them to see the beauty that only God can bring from the
circumstances that have left ashes along her journey.
Featured speaker
- Wendy Blight
Wendy works with the team of speakers from
Proverbs 31 Ministries. Her
greatest passion is sharing the transforming power of God’s Word. She
especially loves to teach Bible study and write corresponding curriculum
because it enables her to connect directly to the heart of women.
Just days after her college graduation,
She was attacked by a masked man hiding in her apartment. While she
physically survived, she lived the next decade in a prison of fear,
despair, and hopelessness. God and God alone healed her. Wendy’s story is
now an amazing testimony of God’s strength in weakness, His hope in
hopelessness, and His healing in brokenness.
She has written a book,
Hidden Joy in a Dark Corner: The Transforming Power of God's Story
(release date February 1, 2009), that shares her journey of
transformation. It offers a step-by-step walk through God’s Word to find
physical, spiritual, and emotional healing.
Worship leader
Melissa Milbourne
Melissa, from Proverbs 31 Ministries, is the worship leader at First
Christian Church in Marshall, Illinois and works with the praise team
“Beyond Limits.” Melissa greatly desires to lead people to the throne of
God. “Actually, what I really desire, is for ME, to sit at the feet of
Jesus, to be in God's presence... "better is one day in His courts than a
thousand elsewhere" and I want YOU there with me.”
Melissa is also a songwriter and has
released a worship CD entitled:
From My Heart to Your Throne.

Special singing
Pam Hedrick lives in Buckhannon, WV with her husband Bobby and their precious
miracle, a four year old son named Daniel. She serves in her local church,
The Way of Holiness, as worship leader. Her desire and prayer is “that we
all have a true understanding of the Presence of Jesus Christ, to realize
that we have been accepted into the beloved Jesus Christ, and that we have
Almighty God’s attention as we offer up sacrifices of praise!”
Special Guest
The
Jesus Painter -- Jeremy Simons
Jeremy
Simons paints with only using his hands on a 4X6 canvas in about 20
minutes. Before your eyes he transforms a blank canvas into an amazing
masterpiece that glorifies Christ and his sacrifice. From a small town in
West Virginia, he and his wife Lydia have traveled the nation ministering
in small churches to sharing the stage with some of our greatest ministers
today.
Jeremy will be painting a masterpiece especially
designed for this conference! Don't miss it!
Jeremy's art can be seen in magazine publications,
calendars, and even on display at the White House. With numerous national
awards, he is sure to continue to be a marvel expressing his worship in
this unique way.
Lydia, his wife, will be sharing her testimony about
God's goodness and grace that helped her and Jeremy to emerge even
stronger after a fire completely destroyed their home. A true "Beauty for
Ashes" story.

Workshops
Rita Robinson
" A Radical Woman of God"
Rita,
born and raised in Clarksburg, WV, graduated from Victory High School in
1966 and from Zion Bible College in 1969. She is an ordained pastor of a
church in Salem, WV. She has been in the ministry since age 20. Rita has
worked at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg for 39 years as a medical
transcriptionist.
Rita plays piano and accordion and loves
to sing for the Lord. (She could sing her new “political song” for you.)
She loves children and has been a children’s pastor for many years as
well. She has an all Christian “murder mystery team” called the King James
Gang. They do Christian entertainment. Rita was born to entertain and to
minister God’s Word.
A Radical Woman of God Workshop: Have
you ever whipped a bottle of sticky “anointing oil” out of your
over-stuffed handbag and smeared it on someone’s head in Aisle #3 of the
supermarket...right between the frozen peas and the sweet midgets? What
about grabbing your sister’s hand in front of Victoria’s Secret in the
middle of the mall and proceeding to intercede for her son who is on
drugs, lost and on his way to hell? Ask Deborah or Rizpah from the Old
Testament what radical is all about. Listen as they echo their response
from the grave. They will entice their sisters from this generation to
wave farewell to status-quo, to mediocrity, and to become a wild, radical
woman of God. Grab your purse, wear your Depends, and follow me. We’ll
define radical and provide you with steps to becoming a radical woman of
God. We’re in for a ride, don’t forget your Dramamine!

Molly Campbell
"Container Hang-Up"
Molly is originally from south central Pennsylvania where she was raised
as a 9th generation daughter in a Lutheran Church. After 28 years of
religious traditions and hypocrisy, Jesus caught her attention and
affection! For the past 14 years she has been blessed to be in passionate
love relationship with her Lord and Savior. Molly has moved to Buckhannon
four times and has a story to share about overcoming past hurts; receiving
deliverance from sins that held her in bondage; and the joy she has in
knowing and serving the Lord. Molly currently directs a Mom’s Day Out
ministry and Indoor Playground for her church. She is married to Ross
Campbell and has three children: Eli (9), Alyna (6), and Carys (3)
Container Hang-Up Workshop: What is your container worth? Many people
seem to have hang-ups concerning the containers we call our bodies. The
truth is that past experiences, relationships with other people, even
Hollywood has dictated the value we place on ourselves and others. We
invite you to visit “Container Hang-Up” and learn how we can take the
price tag that life and society has placed on our containers and replace
it with our God given value and worth.

Sheila Tallman
"Faith Lift"
Sheila, the wife of Rev. Jim Tallman, founding pastor of the
Light of Christ Chapel
in Belington, WV, serves on her church praise and worship team. She has
been blessed with one son, Brent, a wonderful daughter-in-law, Chris, and
two delightful granddaughters, Kendra and Camela. Sheila also works
fulltime at the Belington Medical Clinic and enjoys spending time with
family and friends.
Faith Lift Workshop: Have you struggled with feelings of
anxiousness, depression or being overwhelmed? If so, this is the workshop
for you. 1 Samuel 30:6 says that “David encouraged himself in the Lord.”
Come join me as we explore the Scriptures and learn how to draw from God
the strength and courage we need to “keep on keeping on.”
Tiffany
Elliott
"Crown of Forgiveness"
Tiffany is an ordained preacher, teacher and singer of the Gospel of
Christ. At the age of thirteen she felt the call of God to the five-fold
ministry. Growing up as a PK, she is no stranger to the needs within the
local church and has served in almost every area of helps ministry at some
time in her life. Tiffany ministers with an evangelist anointing, and God
is using her to bring sinners to repentance and backsliders back to God
with a strong message of reconciliation. She received her Master’s degree
in theology from
West Virginia Christian University in 2007 and completed her Doctorate
of Ministry from Southern
Bible Institute and Seminary in May of this year. Dr. Elliott is also
the Vice President of West Virginia Christian University and has enjoyed
teaching a variety of theology courses for the last 8 years. God blessed
Tiffany with a wonderful husband Brian 9 years ago and they were doubly
blessed with twin boys Aaron and Austin who are now six years old. They
reside in Elkins, West Virginia.
Crown of Forgiveness Workshop:
Unforgiveness- What is it good for? Absolutely nothing! Do you feel like
there is a war raging within your heart? You have a desire to serve God
and be used of Him but something holds you back. So many people allow
bitterness and unforgiveness from past hurts to hinder them from
fulfilling God’s call on their life. This workshop will uncover the secret
of how we can forgive, not just other people, but more importantly, how to
forgive ourselves and receive beauty for ashes.
“Grace
by Faith” ladies dance team was organized in 2006. The Lord
impressed upon these ladies a longing for more freedom in worship and a
desire to minister through dance. “Grace by Faith” has become a group of
“sisters” unified as a family, holding each other accountable,
encouraging, and showing compassion and unconditional love in times of
need. They do not only minister to others but also to each other. Their
main focus is to glorify the Lord. The Lord has brought them through many
bumps in the road but in the process of traveling that road, he has also
opened many doors for ministering opportunities throughout our local and
surrounding areas. Each dance has been a gift that God has given to “Grace
by Faith” in order to reach out and bless you with God’s love and express
his desire for us to worship him in freedom. May you be blessed and God be
glorified.
The Beauty of Praise Workshop: Dance in Church? Is it Biblical?
Many shiver at the thought of it. 2 Samuel 6:14 says, “And David danced
before the LORD with all his might.” “Yes, but that was not choreographed
dance,” you say. Maybe, although Jewish dances were taught and learned
among God’s people. David was in free worship of the Lord. He didn’t have
an audience. His only goal was to bless the Lord. Today, we are dancing to
bless the Lord, but we also know that the Lord is using us to reach others
through our dance. Each dance you see today, as well as the one you will
learn in this workshop, has been prayed about. Every song and every move
in the dance has been given to one of our members “for such a time as
this” (Esther 4:14). We do not “make up” moves. We pray and wait on God to
give them to us and each move comes with a meaning…something that it
represents… something God wants to say through the dance. Step out of your
comfort zone… Join us for a brief biblical teaching on church dance and
experience for yourself the freedom of worshiping him through the dance.
Bless the Lord and be blessed!
